Host Aligarh Muslim University defeated Kumaun University, Nainital by 12-0 in the North Zone Hockey Intervarsity Tournament being played here on Wednesday.
Mohd. Qasim Khan scored 3 goals while M. Moied Ahmad, Farogh Alvi and Salman Khan scored 2 goals respectively. Abhishek Singh, Lalit Mohan and Faraz Khan scored one goal each.
Delhi University defeated Dr. RML Avadh University, Faizabad by 6-1. Kartik Kumar scored 2 goals while Avtar Singh, Abhishek, Jaiveer Singh and Ajay Kumar scored 1 goal each.
In another match Punjabi University Patiala defeated MJP University Ruhelkhand, Bareilly by 14-2. Guru Sharan Singh and Harvinder Singh scored 4 goals respectively while Sandeep Kumar and Sunil Shah scored 2 goals. Satendra Singh scored 1 goal.
Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa defeated Subharti University, Meerut by 11-0. Saudagar Singh scored 4 goals, Udham Preet Singh scored 3 goals, Manider Teg scored 2 goals while Parveen Kumar and Harvinder Singh scored 1 goals each.
Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi defeated Lucknow University 4-0. Deepak Kumar scored 2 goals while Umesh Kumar and Shamsher Singh scored 1 goal each.
University of Kashmir got walk over against Thapar University, Patiala.
