The students of the Department of Social Work organized a cycle rally on the theme "Safe Environment", on the occasion of "United Nations' Day"


The students of the Department of Social Work organized a cycle rally on the theme "Safe Environment", on the occasion of "United Nations' Day". The rally proceeded from Faculty of Arts and culminated at the University Circle.
The objective of organizing the rally was to make the people aware of the impact of global warming on human lives. Prof Shabahat Hussain, Chairman, Department of Social Work, flagged off the rally.
The participating students said they wanted to spread the message of the benefits of reducing emissions by switching to alternative modes of transport. The temperature of the earth is increasing at a steady rate due to pollution and burning of fossil fuels. The participants urged to promote eco-­friendly vehicle to tackle with the problem of Global Warming. This is the first step towards creating an environmental awakening in people, they said. The world has to be educated that we are also the part of nature and to save ourselves, it was essential to save the nature.
The students took a pledge to make the campus neat and clean through signature campaign.
