Host Aligarh Muslim University registered third consecutive victory by defeating HPU Shimla 9-1 in the North Zone Hockey Intervarsity Tournament here on Thursday.
Mohd Asif Siddiqui and Lalit Mohan scored two goals respectively while Faraz Khan, Farog Alvi, Salman Khan, Qasim Khan and S. Nihal Wajid scored one goal each. Rajesh Kumar scored only one goal for HPU Shimla.
Delhi University beat Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut 7-1. Mohit Dhaiya scored three goals while Vipin Kumar scored two goals and Ajay Kumar and Parveen scored one goal each. Pankaj Kumar scored one goal for Meerut.
Punjabi University, Patiala defeated Chudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa 6-1. Majender Singh and Harendra Singh scored two goals while Jasvender Singh and Gurdeep Singh scored one goal each. Surendra Kumar of Sirsa scored only one goal.
Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi defeated University of Kashmir by 10-1. Umesh Kumar and Pawan Singh scored 3 goals respectively while Vijay Kumar, Nitin Kumar Shamsher Singh and Ravi Kumar scored 1 goal each. Ali Mohammad scored one goal for University of Kashmir.
